Malad Stone Khanki finish used similar to most of the heritage
structure in the surrounding (in place of polished granite)
Internal wall Finish
Matt finished 12” square ceramic tiles using five pastel
shades for ease of identification in five arms of the subway,
(in place of glossy vitrified tiles).
Internal ceiling
Exposed concrete vaulted slab painted with white epoxy,
thus using the vault as reflectors (in place of false ceiling)
Steps / Rails
Folded tread / risers in kota for comfort and ease of maintainance.
Satin finished stainless steel railing at two levels – both for children and
adults
General Lighting
Cluster of four energy saving metalhilite (in place of tube
lights) suspended from the ceiling alongwith exposed twin
vent ducts for cool and reflective light evenly spread
throughout the subway.
Junctions
All six junctions are having different profiles in plan and utility
requirements. To indentify each of these six junctions,
interesting design elements on walls with permanent finish is
envisaged as well as on the ceiling depicting the historic
structures of the neighborhood. Details are being worked out.
Signages
All signages are suspended polycarbonate panels at each
junction using international fonts and colours in English and
Devnagiri made out of vinyl. |
